The internet has been abuzz the last two days with the news of Sony’s latest foray into the world of drones. A joint project with the Japanese company ZMP, the so-called Aerosense is a hallmark in vertical takeoff and landing UAV technology, can fly continuously for up to 2 hours, carry payloads of 22 pounds and can reach speeds of up to 106 miles per hour.
And now, there is real footage of the drone in flight:
It goes without saying that the Aerosense is targeting the enterprise drone market and won’t encroach on the prosumer market that has come to be dominated by DJI and 3D Robotics.
There is no indication as to when this product would see a wide release, but we can’t wait to see more of it in action.
