The integrated stack pairs LiveU’s bonded, low-latency video transport with Airwise fleet management, airspace awareness and video distribution in one validated workflow for public safety agencies.
LiveU and Airwise Solutions announced a strategic partnership on October 6, 2026 to deliver an integrated, end-to-end solution for public safety drone operations. Under the agreement, the companies will connect two previously separate parts of the public safety drone workflow in a single validated technology stack. Airwise contributes fleet management, airspace awareness and video distribution tools that help agencies fly compliantly, manage assets and get live video to every stakeholder. Meanwhile, LiveU supplies edge video encoding and bonded IP transport to move that video from the field reliably, at scale and with minimal latency.
Today, agencies often have to assemble video, connectivity, fleet management and airspace compliance from multiple vendors whose products were never designed to work together. By contrast, the joint architecture unifies mission controls, airspace compliance and real-time video distribution into a single operational view for command decision-makers.
“By combining resilient edge connectivity and low-latency video streaming with built-in fleet management and airspace compliance, we’re delivering an end-to-end solution that addresses every agency’s operational needs,” said Alex Joyce, head of technology at LiveU Public Safety. “With a comprehensive set of tools working seamlessly in the background, agencies can launch operations at a moment’s notice with complete confidence in their technology.”
How the LiveU and Airwise stack fits together
LiveU, based in Hackensack, New Jersey, builds its video products on its LiveU Reliable Transport (LRT) protocol. The company uses IP bonding to transmit live video over the public internet or private networks, and it serves more than 5,000 customers in 150 countries. Airwise, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, develops AirwiseOS, an operational intelligence platform for enterprise drone programs. Its applications cover airspace authorizations, pilot and fleet management, UTM operational intent, mission planning, analytics and the Nexus common operating picture.
“This strategic partnership enhances our ability to deliver an end-to-end solution for public safety teams,” said John Powers, chief revenue officer at Airwise. “For agencies in the field, the combined offering functions as a complete drone-to-command stack rather than a single piece of a larger puzzle. Together, we are helping teams streamline field operations and gain immediate situational awareness when seconds count.”
The Tulsa Fire Department described the operational benefit from a user’s perspective. “Having a unified technology stack that seamlessly pairs LiveU’s bonded transmission with Airwise’s flight management makes an immediate impact on tactical operations,” said Gabe Graveline, EMS officer and robotics coordinator at the Tulsa Fire Department. “It allows our operators to focus on the mission and airspace compliance, knowing that crystal-clear video is reaching incident command without delay.”
Live demonstration at DRONERESPONDERS TEXCON
LiveU and Airwise will demonstrate the joint solution at DRONERESPONDERS TEXCON 2026, held October 19-22 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. During the demo, attendees will see a full mission scenario. First, the Airwise platform manages a drone flight and sends automated notifications to stakeholders. Then LiveU’s IP-bonded solution transmits live video directly to command displays and mobile devices.
