SimActive Enables Online Sharing of Gaussian Splats From Correlator3D

October 7, 2026 by staff Leave a Comment

A new Correlator3D capability publishes Gaussian splat models directly to a connected Cesium account, making photorealistic 3D results easier to distribute and view.

SimActive announced a new sharing capability in Correlator3D on October 6, 2026 that lets users publish Gaussian splat models online directly from the software. The Montreal company designed the feature to simplify how photorealistic 3D results reach clients, stakeholders and other viewers outside the processing environment.

How Gaussian splat sharing works in Correlator3D

The workflow starts with a connected Cesium account. Once users link that account, they can start sharing from inside Correlator3D, and the software then publishes the Gaussian splat automatically. As a result, users no longer need to export files, convert formats and upload them to a separate hosting platform.

Gaussian splatting represents a scene as a large set of overlapping 3D points with color and transparency, producing photorealistic views that render smoothly in a browser. For that reason, splats have become a popular format for presenting reality-capture data to non-technical audiences.

“One of the greatest advantages of Gaussian splats is how intuitive they are to view and explore,” said Louis Simard, chief technology officer at SimActive. “They are ideal for presenting 3D results to a broader audience, and this new integration makes sharing them simple and efficient.”

Correlator3D photogrammetry platform

Correlator3D is SimActive’s patented end-to-end photogrammetry software for generating geospatial data from satellite, aerial and drone imagery. In addition to Gaussian splats, it performs aerial triangulation and produces dense digital surface models, digital terrain models, point clouds, orthomosaics, 3D models and vectorized 3D features. The software uses GPU technology and multi-core CPUs to process large datasets quickly. SimActive sells Correlator3D to mapping firms and government organizations worldwide.
