Another New Drone from ZenaTech

ZenaTech Launches ZenaDrone IQ Quad for Survey and Mapping Markets

New autonomous quadcopter targets land surveying, construction, urban planning, and public works

ZenaTech has announced the launch of the ZenaDrone IQ Quad, a new autonomous quadcopter designed for survey and mapping work. The drone will support land surveying, construction, urban planning, real estate development, and public works through the company’s Drone as a Service platform.

The IQ Quad is an autonomous vertical takeoff and landing drone designed and manufactured by ZenaTech subsidiary ZenaDrone. Over the coming weeks, ZenaTech plans to deploy the IQ Quad at select Drone as a Service locations for on-site integration and testing. A broader rollout is planned across U.S. and global service locations.

A Purpose-Built Drone for Survey Work

ZenaTech says the IQ Quad was designed to meet the specific needs of survey professionals. The company views land surveying as a large and growing market that requires consistent data quality and fast turnaround.

“This launch represents a meaningful step forward in our strategy to deliver purpose-built autonomous AI solutions for high-value, data-intensive industries. Land surveying is a large, growing and underserved market, where speed, accuracy, and repeatability are critical, and the IQ Quad was engineered by ZenaDrone from the ground up to meet those exact requirements,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. “We believe the IQ Quad will significantly improve the productivity of our survey professionals while strengthening our vertically integrated Drone as a Service platform and meaningfully expanding recurring revenue opportunities.”

The IQ Quad is a medium-class, field-deployable quadcopter designed for enterprise use. It supports a wide range of sensors, including 4K cameras, LiDAR, multispectral, and thermal payloads. These sensors allow operators to capture detailed aerial data in complex environments.

The drone includes advanced obstacle detection, terrain-following sensors, and 360-degree situational awareness cameras. ZenaTech says these features are intended to improve safety and flight performance during survey operations. The platform is designed to deliver survey-grade data for professional land maps and 3D terrain models used in infrastructure and development projects.

Design and Performance Features

ZenaDrone designed the IQ Quad with durability and portability in mind. The drone features a weather-resistant carbon fiber airframe and folding arms for easier transport and storage. It can autonomously recharge by landing on a charging station.

The IQ Quad has a payload capacity of 2 to 3 kilograms. This allows operators to swap between different survey sensors as needed. The drone offers flight endurance of up to 45 minutes and a range of up to 5 kilometers, supporting coverage of large sites in a single mission.

ZenaTech positions the IQ Quad as a flexible platform for repeated survey flights. Consistent flight paths and automated operations are intended to support repeatable data collection over time.

Market Growth for Drone-Based Surveying

The launch comes as drone-based surveying continues to expand. Industry analysts estimate the global drone-specific surveying market is growing at more than 19 percent per year. From a market size of about $2 billion today, some projections suggest it could exceed $11 billion by 2033.

Other analysts estimate the broader surveying, mapping, and geospatial services market could reach $50 billion within the next decade. Growth is driven by wider use of drones and advanced data analytics, which are replacing some traditional surveying methods.

ZenaTech aims to position its Drone as a Service platform to capture part of this growth. The company combines drone hardware, automation, and data analytics with service delivery for commercial and government customers.

Drone as a Service Strategy

ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service platform offers on-demand and subscription-based drone services. These services cover surveying, inspection, maintenance, power washing, inventory management, and precision agriculture.

The company follows a strategy of acquiring established service businesses and upgrading them with drone technology and software. ZenaTech says this approach allows it to build a scalable services network with existing revenue.

In its first year of operation, the company has established 19 U.S. and three international Drone as a Service business locations. ZenaTech says the model supports recurring revenue and operational scale while modernizing traditional field services.

About ZenaTech and ZenaDrone

ZenaTech is a technology company focused on AI drones, Drone as a Service, enterprise SaaS, and quantum computing solutions. The company serves commercial, government, and defense customers. Since 2017, ZenaTech has expanded its drone design and manufacturing capabilities through ZenaDrone.

ZenaDrone develops autonomous drone systems that can incorporate machine learning, AI, predictive modeling, and other advanced software and hardware. Its product portfolio includes the ZenaDrone 1000 for agriculture and defense cargo applications, the IQ Nano indoor drone for warehouse and logistics use, and the IQ Square for outdoor inspection missions.

With the launch of the IQ Quad, ZenaTech is expanding its drone portfolio with a platform focused on survey and mapping markets. The company plans to integrate the new drone across its Drone as a Service network as deployment continues in 2026.
