Perceptual Robotics Gets £4 Million to Scale Turbine Inspection Drones

July 24, 2026 by Ian McNabb Leave a Comment

Bristol-based drone company adds Innovate UK backing and a fresh check from Investing for Purpose alongside follow-on from Loggerhead Ventures and One Planet Capital.

Perceptual Robotics has secured more than £4 million (about $5.3 million) so far in 2026. The Bristol-based company will use the capital to expand its wind turbine inspection platform. It announced the milestone July 28, 2026. The funding combines investment from new and returning shareholders with co-funded support from Innovate UK. Innovate UK is part of UK Research and Innovation.

Investors in the round

Loggerhead Ventures and One Planet Capital returned as backers. They were joined by new investor Investing for Purpose, a Greek impact fund backed by the European Investment Fund through EquiFund II. Innovate UK provided grant co-funding through its national innovation program. The capital funds international expansion, offshore capabilities and continued product scaling. It also supports the platforms Perceptual Robotics already ships to wind operators.

“It has been great to see such strong investor support for Perceptual Robotics. The business has strong momentum now across both onshore and offshore wind, and it is clear there are multiple verticals that the company can expand into over the next 24 months,” said Matthew Jellicoe, director of One Planet Capital.

“Perceptual Robotics exemplifies the type of company we want to support: one that combines technological innovation with meaningful, measurable environmental impact. By helping wind assets operate more efficiently, safely and for longer, the company is strengthening the resilience of renewable energy infrastructure while accelerating the clean energy transition. We are delighted to back Kostas and the team as they continue to scale their impact internationally,” said Eleonore Cottarel, partner at Investing for Purpose.

Perceptual Robotics wind turbine inspection platform

Perceptual Robotics builds autonomous drones and AI services for wind turbine blade management. The platform captures blade imagery, classifies damage severity and delivers repair-ready reports. The company ships that capability through its Dhalion DOT autonomous system and its EVE mini-drone. Product development draws on ongoing input from operators, service providers and blade specialists. That feedback loop shaped Perceptual Robotics’ autonomous inspection systems, AI-assisted damage detection and Repair Now Ratio prioritization.

Since its last raise, the company has extended service coverage across Europe, North America and Latin America. Its drones inspect turbines from forests in northern Sweden to Caribbean coastlines. The fleet also covers some of the largest turbines now in operation. Perceptual Robotics operates in more than 18 countries and has processed over 1 million images with its AI stack.

Kostas Karachalios on the raise

“This funding is a vote of confidence in the work our team has put in over the last few years, and in the direction we’re taking the business. It gives us the resources to move faster on the products our customers are asking for,” said Kostas Karachalios, chief executive of Perceptual Robotics.

Perceptual Robotics plans to accelerate new product releases with the capital. The company will also deepen offshore support and work to extend blade service life for wind operators.
