ePropelled Targets Faster Drone Manufacturing with Integrated SKYLARK Propulsion

July 20, 2026 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

New motor and controller design aims to simplify drone production while improving payload capacity and system reliability

ePropelled has introduced a new integrated propulsion system designed to simplify UAV manufacturing and improve aircraft performance. The company unveiled its SKYLARK™ Series at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, where it positioned the product as a solution for manufacturers seeking to scale production while reducing assembly complexity.

The SKYLARK™ Series combines the motor and controller into a single unit for light and medium duty unmanned aircraft. According to ePropelled, the integrated design reduces wiring, shortens assembly time, and allows manufacturers to either create more compact aircraft or increase payload capacity. The company says the system targets defense, industrial, and commercial UAV applications.

The launch comes as drone manufacturers continue to focus on faster production, simpler supply chains, and more integrated aircraft designs. Rather than sourcing and integrating separate propulsion components, OEMs increasingly seek complete subsystems that reduce manufacturing time while maintaining performance and reliability.

Designed to Reduce Integration Complexity

According to ePropelled, the SKYLARK™ Series reduces the number of components that manufacturers must install during production. The company says this approach improves manufacturing consistency while lowering the amount of wiring and electrical connections required.

The propulsion system also becomes part of ePropelled’s broader eP Unified Architecture™ (ePUA™). It includes the company’s ePConnect™ technology, allowing the propulsion system to integrate with matched motors, controllers, and intelligent power management systems across the company’s product portfolio.

Dean Marcarelli, Chief Commercial Officer of ePropelled, said the company designed the product to address changing market demands.

“We are seeing a clear shift toward the need to scale production of more capable UAV platforms without compromising reliability, performance and mission effectiveness,” said Dean Marcarelli, Chief Commercial Officer of ePropelled. “SKYLARK has been engineered specifically to meet those requirements, delivering ePropelled’s renowned power, endurance and integrated control solutions in a compact unit for efficient and fast assembly.”

Focus on NATO and European Markets

ePropelled says the SKYLARK™ Series is built using secure and sovereign supply chains and is NDAA-compliant for European and NATO-aligned UAV manufacturers and operators. The company says the integrated architecture also simplifies commissioning while improving overall propulsion management and operator control.

Marcarelli said the company’s goal extends beyond combining hardware into a single package.

“By combining propulsion and intelligent control within a unified architecture, we are helping our customers achieve greater operational effectiveness while simplifying system integration ,” added Marcarelli. “This is about delivering real capability where it matters most and putting reliable, mission-ready capability into the field, faster.”

ePropelled will demonstrate the SKYLARK™ Series throughout the Farnborough International Airshow, with technical briefings focused on high-power UAV applications and hybrid propulsion systems.
