ideaForge and C-DAC Partner to Integrate Drone-as-a-Service Platform with India’s Emergency Response System

December 11, 2025 by Ian McNabb Leave a Comment

ideaForge Technology Limited has announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to integrate drone technology into India’s nationwide emergency response infrastructure. The partnership combines ideaForge’s FLYGHT platform—a Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering—with C-DAC’s Emergency Response Support System (ERSS–Dial 112), which processes emergency requests for police, fire, and medical assistance across the country.

Technical Integration of Drone-as-a-Service Platform

The FLYGHT platform operates on a pay-per-use model, eliminating the need for organizations to manage hardware ownership, software maintenance, or specialized personnel training. This Drone-as-a-Service architecture enables government agencies and public safety departments to access aerial capabilities on-demand without significant capital expenditure. The platform features an open, analytics-ready architecture designed for seamless integration with third-party specialized solutions, creating what ideaForge describes as a robust end-to-end system for data-driven decision-making.

Current deployment of the FLYGHT platform demonstrates diverse operational applications beyond emergency response, including urban traffic monitoring, asset inspection, infrastructure security, mapping, sanitation inspection, and urban disaster assessment. India’s average emergency response time currently nears twenty minutes; integrating drone dispatch through ERSS aims to reduce this timeline substantially by deploying aerial units ahead of ground teams to provide immediate situational awareness.

Advanced Computing and Autonomous Research Initiatives

Beyond immediate emergency response integration, the MoU establishes a framework for collaborative research in next-generation technologies. The partnership includes evaluation of C-DAC’s indigenous VEGA processor for integration into ideaForge’s UAV platforms. Additionally, both organizations will explore VEGA-based system-on-chip (SoC) architectures specifically designed for flight control systems, and pursue joint research into autonomous swarm drone capabilities leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced computing.

According to Sachin Pukale, AGM of Product Management at ideaForge, “Unmanned aerial systems are becoming central to how India manages security, governance and emergency operations. This integration is a testament to ideaForge’s commitment to utilizing indigenous technology to serve national security and public welfare needs through its scalable, service-driven FLYGHT ecosystem.”

C-DAC emphasized the partnership’s alignment with data sovereignty objectives, stating that the collaboration “opens new opportunities to harness drone-generated data for faster decision-making” while ensuring “drone data is efficiently processed, analysed and safeguarded.” The partnership aims to develop frameworks supporting autonomous operations, AI-led analytics, and real-time situational awareness within India’s secure digital infrastructure.

The MoU positions Drone-as-a-Service technology as a solution to geographic and resource constraints in emergency response, with both organizations targeting acceleration of UAV adoption aligned with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative for indigenous technology development. It follows ideaForge’s recent partnership with an American manufacturer First Breach.
