Axon Vision has announced a new strategic cooperation agreement with Leonardo DRS to expand advanced situational awareness and Counter-UAS (C-UAS) solutions in the U.S. defense market. The partnership comes as demand for effective drone defense grows, driven by recent airport disruptions across Europe and increased preparation for large public events such as the upcoming FIFA World Cup matches in the United States.

A Partnership Focused on AI-Driven Threat Detection

The companies will combine Leonardo DRS’ operational experience, advanced sensors, and system integration with Axon Vision’s AI-based perception and autonomy technologies. The agreement aims to deliver advanced combat systems with low-latency sensor data management, improved crew awareness, and automated threat engagement.

Both companies say these solutions are designed to meet a critical need in the U.S. defense market for on-platform AI that improves force protection and supports modernization programs.

Building on Previous Collaboration

The new agreement strengthens an existing relationship. To date, the companies have demonstrated joint solutions that embed Axon Vision AI technology into Leonardo DRS’ multi-spectral, multi-function C-UAS mission packages. These packages include radar, electro-optical and infrared sensors, rugged processors, and a mix of kinetic and non-kinetic effectors.

Their most recent demonstration took place at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) exposition. There, the companies showcased unmanned ground vehicle platforms equipped with modular Leonardo DRS mission payloads integrated with Axon Vision’s AI for aerial threat detection, defeat, and AI-enhanced remote weapon station capabilities. The goal is to increase lethality, autonomy, and situational awareness for both manned and unmanned platforms.

Industry Perspectives

“We are excited to solidify our relationship with Axon by integrating advanced mission equipment packages with their AI-driven Counter-UAS and smart RCWS capabilities. It represents a decisive leap forward in manned and unmanned ground combat effectiveness,” said Aaron Hankins, senior vice president and general manager of the Leonardo DRS Land Systems business unit. “By combining real-time aerial threat detection, autonomous or man-on-the-loop engagement, and enhanced situational awareness, this solution delivers unmatched lethality and operational superiority.”

From Axon Vision’s perspective, the partnership will expand the reach of its technology in the U.S. defense sector.

“We are proud to partner with Leonardo DRS, a trusted and highly capable leader in the U.S. defense industry,” said Ido Rozenberg, president, CTO, and co-founder of Axon Vision. “This collaboration marks a significant step in bringing Axon Vision’s advanced AI solutions to the U.S. defense market. Together, we are delivering a true powerhouse solution for combat vehicles, combining world-class sensing and integration with cutting-edge AI to enhance lethality, survivability, and overall battlefield dominance.”

About Axon Vision

Founded in 2017 by Ido Rozenberg, Raz Roditi, and Michael Zolotov, Axon Vision develops AI-based operational systems for defense customers. Its technology is used by the Israel Defense Forces and other military forces worldwide.
