SiFly Launches NDAA-Compliant Long-Endurance Drones to Expand Industrial and Public Safety Capabilities

May 1, 2025 by Miriam McNabb 1 Comment

Silicon Valley startup exits stealth with Q12 and Q250 platforms, offering 10x range and helicopter-class performance

SiFly Unveils High-Endurance Drones for Industrial and Emergency Applications

SiFly, a Silicon Valley-based startup, has officially exited stealth mode, revealing two new drone platforms designed to address the key challenges facing the $35 billion industrial drone market. The company’s drones aim to replace the trade-offs that users typically face between payload, range, and endurance.

SiFly Q12 Platform

The new all-electric Q12 drone platform can hover for two continuous hours and fly forward for up to three hours, reaching distances of up to 90 miles while carrying a 10-pound payload. The Q250, SiFly’s heavy-lift drone, is capable of transporting payloads of up to 200 pounds with an endurance of 100 minutes — potentially replacing expensive helicopter operations.

SiFly Q250

“Commercial drones have long forced organizations to trade off between flight duration, payload capacity, and operational range,” said Brian Hinman, Founder and CEO of SiFly. “We eliminated those trade-offs. SiFly drones are transforming emergency response, infrastructure inspection, and logistics — delivering helicopter-class performance at drone economics.”

Extended Range, Real-World Validation, and NDAA Compliance

SiFly’s Q12 and Q250 platforms are designed for long-range missions such as Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) operations, public safety, and logistics. According to the company, the Q12’s long flight time reduces the need for drone docks and cuts operational costs by more than 90% per square mile in Drone-as-First-Responder (DFR) programs.

SiFly Q12 Platform

The company has validated its technology through thousands of flight hours. One deployment involved Amaral Ranches in California’s Salinas Valley, where SiFly’s Q12 drone delivered real-time insights through onboard AI systems and cloud-based data processing.

SiFly’s drones are NDAA-compliant, making them suitable for U.S. government and public safety use — an important distinction as the U.S. continues to move away from foreign-manufactured drone platforms.

Leadership and Market Outlook

Founded in 2021, SiFly is led by Brian Hinman, a seasoned entrepreneur who previously founded and scaled major tech companies including Polycom and Mimosa. Logan Jones, the company’s Chief Business Officer, brings nearly 20 years of aviation leadership, including his role in launching Boeing’s HorizonX venture capital group.

The startup is currently demonstrating its platforms to both public and private sector partners in the United States and plans to announce strategic partnerships in the coming months. Deliveries of the Q12 are scheduled to begin in Q4 2025.

SiFly’s approach emphasizes performance, affordability, and autonomy. As Hinman explained, the goal is to shift industrial and emergency drone operations toward greater efficiency without compromising on capability.

But what about the very important part of a drone called the camera. What are the specs on that?
