New Xplorer UAV
US-based drone manufacturer Arcsky recently announced the launch of the Xplorer UAV, a “rugged, compact drone system built for industrial missions”. Designed for fast deployment, rock-solid reliability, and seamless integration without added complexity, the Xplorer is designed for use across public safety, infrastructure inspection, and survey applications.
Simplicity and Flexibility
The fully NDAA-compliant and US-made Xplorer features a 45-minute flight time with a hot-swappable battery system. Arcsky highlights the simplicity of the system. With bundled app or complex set up, the Arcsky is easy to adapt to a wide range of mission sets. Terrain following and obstacle avoidance sensors come standard, allowing pilots to maintain a consistent altitude for precision survey and mapping projects, as well as detecting obstacles up to 50m ahead. Native RTK and NTRIP support allows for centimeter-level accuracy without a dongle or a new subscription.
A tightly integrated payload ecosystem promises reliability and full compatibility. Full CAN-bus motor control and advanced battery diagnostics ensure stable and reliable flight regardless of conditions (they advertise an operating range between -20°C to 45°C and up to IP53 ingress protection).
New Technology
Future Xplorer integrations are planned, including drone-in-a-box systems supporting autonomous charging and deployment systems and full tether integration allowing for persistent applications that require unlimited power. The Xplorer promises to be a highly flexible solution for clients ranging from public safety professionals to survey teams that will be available at the end of 2025.
