Focus on Positioning Systems for Mapping
The discussion will focus on how high-accuracy positioning systems improve the quality of large-scale mapping projects. These systems play a critical role when integrated into aerial triangulation workflows using software like SimActive’s Correlator3D.
“High-accuracy positioning systems, such as those developed by Applanix, are crucial for ensuring the quality of large-scale mapping projects utilizing new sensors and multi-sensor systems,” said the event announcement.
These systems help produce precise outputs such as digital elevation models (DEMs), orthomosaics, and 3D models. They also provide alternatives to traditional ground control points by offering direct georeferencing, which is useful in areas where ground control is not possible.
