This week, AUVSI NC offers two free events for the drone industry.  As hurricane season hits, AUVSI NC is here to help your state get ready for using drones for hurricane response.

This Friday, July 31 from 12 – 4, AUVSI NC will host a free public workshop, bringing federal, state & local, military and academic experts together to discuss best practices for using drones for hurricane response.  (Register for this free event here.)

“This workshop will also discuss how public and private sector UAS teams need to prepare for this Hurricane Season. The session will also focus on some new trends, regulations, technology, etc. that will better prepare the teams for emergency response,” says the webinar description.”We will also cover lessons learned from Hurricane Florence and Dorian.”

With Hurricane Hannah making landfall in Texas this week in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, emergency services around the country are looking for safer and more effective ways to keep communities safe during and after storms.  Drones have emerged as a critical tool: but one that is still relatively new for many public safety agencies.  This workshop offers a simple and timely way for stakeholders to hear experienced experts discuss how programs using drones for hurricane response can be effectively implemented.

The workshop will be followed by AUVSI NC’s monthly event, Let’s Talk Drones!  Let’s Talk Drones is another free and easy opportunity to get your questions about drones answered.  The event is hosted by AUVSI NC but is open and appropriate for drone enthusiasts or professionals from anywhere.   The AUVSI NC panel will answer any questions you ask – or do their best to research a response. This session will highlight ‘Drones in Disaster Response’.

DRONELIFE is proud to be a media partner for AUVSI NC’s Let’s Talk Drones Series. Don’t forget – register here for the Webinar, held from 12-4 pm EST this Friday, July 31, 2020.
