The Numbers are in: Thanks to You, DRONELIFE Showed Big Growth in 2019 with over 40% growth in Sessions

January 13, 2020 by staff 4 Comments

Whether the hype cycle is really over for the drone industry, interest in the commercial drone industry and industry news is still going strong.  Thanks to all of you, DRONELIFE is growing too: 2019 was a great year for us.

DRONELIFE reached a record-high audience for 2019, with over 2 million web-based readers worldwide.  Our web based sessions grew by over 40% in 2019.  Our social media audience continues to grow, with the Facebook audience topping 250,000 (a more than 25% growth rate!) The Twitter audience reached over 40,000 readers, growing at more than 10% for the year.

“We’re happy that our readership has continued to grow as the industry has matured, and that that the trend has continued into 2019,” said Harry McNabb, DRONELIFE CEO.

“We announced significant growth in 2018 and it is nice to see that this is carrying over into 2020,” continued McNabb. “In terms of breakdown, while most of our readers are from the US, we have large and growing audiences in Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world. We’re also a Google News site, and are pleased to now be a Apple News site with large and growing subscription lists of drone influencers worldwide for each of our four properties: DRONELIFE, DroneFlyers, Jobfordrones, and DroneRacingLife.”

In 2019, DRONELIFE attended industry events all over the world – and we plan to do the same in 2020, starting with next month’s African Drone Forum in Rwanda.

“We’re now reaching the scale and scope where companies that are not directly in the drone space, but have intersecting audiences, are showing interest in partnering with our sites,” McNabb said.

DRONELIFE published its first posts in 2013.  Since then, we’ve grown to an international staff of writers and a broad customer list for DRONELIFE’s advertising, branding and consulting services.  We’re still working to provide a balanced and rational view of current industry issues, new technologies, and new businesses – and as we grow, we’ll be able to provide even better content for our audience.

Thanks for being one of our dedicated readers, and helping us to grow with the industry.
