DJI announced on Tuesday the release of the all-new DJI GO app, an upgrade to the previous DJI Pilot app with a redesigned user interface to make it easier to capture and share images captured with DJI’s latest products including the Phantom 3, Inspire 1 and Matrice 100.
DJI GO offers several key features that allow users to share their creativity, connect with one another and to improve their skills as photographers and filmmakers.

The app includes expanded in-app editing tools to make it easier to adjust photos and videos before uploading to social networks. DJI Director, which automatically edits the best moments from flights into short videos, has also been upgraded to include video speed control, additional templates and background music options.
Edited videos can now be uploaded directly to the world’s leading aerial imaging community, SkyPixel, decreasing the time from editing to sharing to a few minutes. Any user with a SkyPixel account will be able to upload videos created on the DJI GO app up to 50GB in size.
“We made a number of changes to the DJI app experience based on our customers’ feedback,” said Frank Wang, Founder and CEO of DJI. “Our goal is to make aerial imaging as seamless as possible so our customers can focus on the image-making aspects of flight and share their creativity immediately.”
The best photos and videos uploaded to SkyPixel will be featured on the new Explore tab in the DJI GO app. Explore lets users see and be inspired by the creativity of other DJI GO and SkyPixel creators. For the first time the DJI GO app also includes integration with the DJI Forum so users can connect over tips for capturing the best images.

Knowledge sharing is also at the core of the updated Academy and Beginner’s Guide functions, which provide tools and guidance for safe flight.
The upgraded shopping tool makes the purchasing experience for DJI products effortless, and allows users to share links to new products and earn DJI store credit.
The current version of the app is available for iOS, with an Android version of the DJI GO app in development and available in the near future. Users must upgrade to the latest Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 firmware to be able to use the DJI GO app.
