Ondas to Provide Counter-Drone Protection for Jacksonville Jaguars Home Games

August 7, 2026 by Miriam McNabb 2 Comments

NFL team adopts Sentrycs technology as stadium operators strengthen defenses against unauthorized drones

Ondas Inc. announced that its Sentrycs subsidiary has been selected to provide counter-drone protection for Jacksonville Jaguars home games during the upcoming NFL season.

According to the company, the Jaguars are the first NFL franchise to deploy a counter-UAS system designed to enforce Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) under the SAFER SKIES Act. Authorized law enforcement officers, trained at the National Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Training Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will operate the portable system.

Moving Beyond Detection

Unauthorized drones have become a growing concern for stadium operators. While many venues can detect drones, fewer have the ability to respond safely when one enters restricted airspace.

Ondas said its Sentrycs Cyber-over-RF (CoRF) system detects, identifies, and provides controlled mitigation of unauthorized drones. The company says the technology can safely take control of a drone without radio-frequency jamming or kinetic measures, reducing the risk of disrupting nearby communications or creating hazards for spectators.

The company said the selection followed an evaluation involving local law enforcement, the Jacksonville Jaguars, stadium operator Legends Global, and other stakeholders.

“Protecting our fans, players, staff, and stadium operations requires us to stay ahead of emerging threats,” said Bobby Lyle, Jaguars’ Director of Events and Facilities Security. “As drones become increasingly accessible, we recognized the importance of moving beyond detection and adding an effective mitigation capability to our security strategy. This investment reinforces our commitment to delivering a safe and uninterrupted game-day experience.”

Building on Earlier Deployments

The Jaguars contract follows another high-profile Sentrycs deployment: Ondas was selected to provide counter-drone protection at multiple venues during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The company says these projects reflect growing demand for counter-UAS systems that can operate in crowded environments without disrupting other wireless communications.

Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas, said the Jaguars deployment marks another step in that trend.

“This deployment represents an important milestone not only for Ondas, but for the future of public venue security,” Brock said. “As drone threats continue to evolve, organizations responsible for protecting large public gatherings are recognizing the need for mitigation capabilities that are effective, precise, and operationally safe. We believe the Jacksonville Jaguars are setting a new benchmark for proactive airspace security in professional sports.”

Investment in Counter-UAS Continues

The Jaguars agreement adds to a series of recent counter-UAS contracts for Ondas, including deployments for the FIFA World Cup and a $6.9 million order from the Australian Department of Defence.

The award also reflects a broader industry trend. Governments, airports, critical infrastructure operators, and major event venues continue to invest in technologies that can detect and safely mitigate unauthorized drones while minimizing disruption to normal operations.

It’s interesting to see the Jacksonville Jaguars leading the way in NFL with counter-drone technology. This highlights a growing concern for security and privacy at large events. I wonder how effective the Sentrycs system will be in real-time scenarios during games. I follow updates like these through a reliable sports security newsletter.
