Drones.net is for sale on Flippa, the large marketplace for buying and selling domains. Drones.net was purchased by James Selig in June of last year with a goal of becoming a drone video hosting site (“think YouTube, but strictly featuring those jaw-dropping aerial shots taken by drones”). The goal was squelched by the massive interest in the domain from startups and larger industry players.
DONELIFE looked at the “drone domain” business in a July ” Is it Time to Buy a Drone Domain?” and receives many inbound emails from those interested in selling drone-related domains, but none with the firepower of Drones.net.
The current high bid (10:30am EST on 10/15/2014) is $9,000 but expect this domain to bring a much higher selling price. If you are interested in becoming a buyer or sell of drone domains, take a quick read of the Domainer’s Bible: A Beginner’s Guide to Buying and Selling Domain Names.
