Garuda Aerospace’s new drone lineup is designed to meet critical defense and emergency response needs. The company will introduce:

• Rocket Launcher Drone – Enhances firepower for military applications.
• Land Mine Detection & Diffusement System – Supports safer operations in conflict zones.
• Logistics Drone – Designed for transport in challenging environments.
• Thales Garuda UTM – A next-generation unmanned traffic management system developed with Thales.
• Firefighting Drone for SDRF – Rapid response drone for State Disaster Response Force operations.
• VR Military Drone Simulator – Provides training for military personnel.
• Grenade & Canister Dropping Drone – Supports loitering munitions applications.
• Life Buoy Drone – Designed for rescue missions by the Navy and Coast Guard.

Strategic Partnerships to Advance Drone Capabilities

• Thales – Development of unmanned traffic management systems.
• Rajasthan Electronics (REIL) & HFCL – Focused on advanced drone communication and surveillance technologies.

The Indian government’s 2025-26 Union Budget reflects a commitment to expanding the country’s drone sector. A ₹57 crore allocation to the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme represents a 7.5% increase from the previous year. This initiative aims to strengthen local drone production and reduce dependence on imported components.

Additional budgetary measures include:

• Expanded PLI Scope – The scheme now includes incentives for drone leasing, domestic software development, and AI-driven drone applications.
• Increased Localization – The government seeks to reduce drone component imports from 50-60% to 30% through domestic manufacturing incentives.
• Defense and National Security Focus – An expected ₹2,000-3,000 crore (~$240-360 million USD) allocation aims to boost military drone deployment for border surveillance, logistics, and security.
• Research and Development Investment – Industry leaders advocate for a ₹300 crore (~$36 million USD) R&D fund to drive AI-enabled and dual-use drone advancements.
• Job Creation and Economic Growth – The drone sector is projected to generate over 1 million jobs by 2025, supporting India’s goal of becoming a major drone technology hub.
