Qualcomm published a video to its YouTube channel highlighting the Snapdragon Flight drone development platform in advance of CES 2016.
The platform is targeted at and designed for the consumer drone market. It integrates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and , according to Qualcomm, “enables superior processing power per unit of weight (MIPS/gram), along with capabilities such as 4K Ultra HD video, computer vision, communication, navigation, and real-time flight assistance.”
This platform is engineered to deliver reduced size and weight hence reducing power consumption and improving flight times.
Central to the platform is a small 4K camera which Qualcomm says is the world’s smallest. Regardless of whether it is the smallest it will undoubtedly heat up the competition in the drone imaging space.
Here is the video.
