Robin Radar Names Homeland Security and Defense Leads for US Expansion

May 18, 2026 by staff Leave a Comment

The Hague-based maker of the IRIS drone-detection radar adds senior US sales leadership and larger Virginia headquarters as homeland security demand grows.

Robin Radar Systems has expanded its presence in the United States with senior appointments and a larger Virginia office. The Dutch counter-drone radar specialist announced the moves on May 18, 2026. National security threats and federal investment in critical infrastructure continue to rise.

Robin Radar USA hired former law enforcement officer Brooks Davis as Homeland Security Sales Director. The company also brought on Silicon Valley sales expert Jerry Courtney as Business Development Manager for Defense.

Senior US Hires Strengthen Counter-Drone Radar Sales

Davis offers deep operational insight from a frontline law enforcement background. Courtney brings extensive experience scaling technology solutions inside complex government environments.

The Virginia office relocation creates additional space for expanding commercial and technical teams. The new headquarters supports stronger collaboration and closer engagement with government and security partners.

“Expanding our US team is a key step in ensuring we can meet the growing demand for advanced radar solutions that protect both people and infrastructure,” said Kristian Brost, General Manager, North America. “Brooks and Jerry bring exceptional expertise and credibility, strengthening our ability to support government and security agencies at a time when resilience and rapid response capabilities are more important than ever.”

“With major global events on the horizon and increasing focus on homeland security, our investment in local talent ensures we are well-positioned to deliver reliable, high-performance detection systems where they are needed most,” Brost added.

IRIS Radar Heads to the FIFA World Cup

The expansion supports the deployment of Robin Radar’s IRIS drone-detection radar for the FIFA World Cup in North America. Components of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will field the system alongside state and local agencies as part of counter-UAS operations.

IRIS is a purpose-built 3D drone-detection radar. The system detects small, fast, and low-flying threats including FPV and dark drones while distinguishing them from birds and other airborne objects.

The radar secures the crucial 2 to 7 kilometer medium-range C-UAS layer. A Long Range Mode extends the instrumented range to 12 kilometers, an innovation driven by government contracts and Ukraine-driven deployment scale. Earlier coverage from Dronelife noted growing FAA and DoD attention to drone operations near sensitive airspace, underscoring the need for trusted detection layers.

Robin Radar combines more than 40 years of radar expertise with AI-powered software for 360-degree situational awareness. The company serves NATO, government agencies, and critical infrastructure operators worldwide. IRIS now counts among Europe’s most widely adopted off-the-shelf counter-drone radars.
