Amprius Taps Intralink for South Korea Drone Battery Push

May 11, 2026 by Ian McNabb Leave a Comment

The Silicon Valley battery maker brings on a Seoul-based business development team to chase OEM and pack-maker deals across Korea’s drone, robotics, and mobility sectors.

Amprius Technologies has appointed international business development consultancy Intralink to deepen its presence in South Korea. The Silicon Valley battery maker announced the engagement on May 11, 2026. South Korea is one of Asia’s most active markets for drones, robotics, and advanced mobility.

Amprius builds high-performance silicon-anode lithium-ion cells for UAVs, robotics, aerospace, and electric mobility. Battery performance directly affects flight time, payload capacity, uptime, and system range.

Why South Korea Matters for the Drone Battery Market

South Korea hosts a strong base of electronics, battery, aerospace, and defense manufacturers. The country also pours investment into next-generation drone and robotics platforms.

That mix creates a meaningful opportunity for Amprius. The company can work with OEMs and battery pack partners hunting for higher-performance energy storage.

Higher-density cells translate into longer flight times, faster acceleration, and heavier payloads. Operators also recharge less often. Those gains matter for inspection, logistics, communications, and defense-related drone systems.

Amprius supplies its batteries directly to OEMs and works with battery pack makers to integrate cells into broader systems. Earlier coverage from Dronelife reported the company expanded its Amprius Korea Battery Alliance to include three additional contract manufacturers, giving Amprius a closer operating base in-country.

Intralink Leads Local Business Development

Intralink helps companies secure customers, partners, and investors in overseas markets. The firm operates from 27 locations, including Silicon Valley, Boston, Tokyo, Shanghai, Taipei, Bangkok, and New Delhi.

The Seoul team has launched a dedicated business development program for Amprius. The first phase identifies and prioritizes opportunities across Korea’s drone and robotics ecosystem.

Targeted engagement with prospective partners and customers follows. The team will run exploratory meetings and build a sales pipeline for Amprius cells.

“South Korea represents an important market for advanced battery technologies, driven by growing investments in drone and robotics innovation across both the defense and commercial sectors,” said Ronnie Tao, VP of Sales at Amprius. “To succeed in Asia, it’s essential to partner with local experts who not only understand how business is done but have deep networks in key industries. Intralink brings exactly this expertise to the table. We’re excited to collaborate with their team in Seoul to accelerate our growth and establish Amprius as a leader in South Korea’s evolving UAV and robotics landscape.”

The move reflects an industry shift toward regional growth strategies built around market access and application fit, not just manufacturing scale. Amprius is betting that differentiated cell technology will translate into commercial traction in a competitive Korean market.
