Now you can hone your flying skills without risk of damaging your investment. 3DR has released a Solo flight simulator.
Now you can practice flying in wet weather and cold conditions from the comfort of your couch. The app represents a great way to assist new users with learning to fly without putting their copter in the air.
The app, which is different from the Solo app, is available for both iOS and Android. It connects wirelessly from your mobile device to your controller. The simulator’s responsiveness is mapped from the sticks to screen.
The app connects wirelessly from your mobile device to your controller, and the simulator’s responsiveness is mapped from the sticks to screen — the “sim Solo” on your screen responds to your control stick inputs just like the real thing would in the air.
Using the simulator enables you to practice flying your Solo freely, getting a feel for the controls that handle flight and the camera.
3DR also included an Easter egg: There’s a passing speedboat. Can you land on it?

This simulator is really useful for practicing manual flight, but I hope 3DR puts out an update soon to include smart shots.
