The holiday season is officially upon us. If you have been following DroneLife, or tech news in general, you may know drone sales are expected to hit all-time highs this month. Prices are fluctuating as new deals and products are announced but the cost of a decent drone remains relatively high, as is the case with most new technology.
The good news for new drone owners, though, is once the drone arrives on your doorstep/under your tree, there are a lot of great resources for how to get started with your drone, available for free, online.
And a lot of those resources can be found right here!
We have compiled a list of our most useful and most popular “Getting Started With Drones” posts right here so you can easily find help as you set up your brand new UAV.
If you are looking at this list and thinking, “No way am I going to read all this,” we beg you to absorb this one takeaway:
Don’t fly over property that isn’t your own without permission. We don’t need you crashing your drone into a building downtown or having your neighbor shoot it out of the sky. This kind of negative publicity spreads fear and misinformation among the uninitiated and is making it ever harder for a beneficial and revolutionary technology to achieve mainstream acceptance.
We are counting on you to fly appropriately. Don’t be the guy who ruins it for everyone else.
