Based on the description, this video was originally posted on YouTube to demonstrate the smooth flight capability of the Drak -a fixed wing, RC aircraft made by RiteWing RC. And while this is an exceptionally stable and fast flight for a nearly 7 lb craft, the reason this video caught our eye was not for its physical subject.
Rather, this video intrigued us because of the type of cinematography it evokes. This kind of shot was groundbreaking in movies like Star Wars and Top Gun. Now all it takes is a fast drone and a stable camera and anyone can recreate aerial chase scenes.
Come to think of it, now I really want to see someone shoot a dog fighting scene like this. Movies like Pearl Harbor or the Star Wars prequels used a lot of CGI to create impressive aerial battles but practical effects are coming back in so I think this video demonstrates it’s high time for drone dog fighting to make it to the big screen.
