Let it be crystal clear: The Palo Alto Police DO NOT USE Drones. Someone lost their DJI Phantom quadcopter in Palo Alto and in an attempt to locate it created “a flyer”. Unwilling to identify themselves in the flyer, the owner provided two methods of contact: an email address (foundquadcopter@gmail.com) and the address of the Palo Alto police station. Apparently the drone pilot has registered the lost drone with their local authorities hoping that it would be returned to the station.
The Palo Alto Police, concerned that the flyer might be misunderstood, clarified in a Tweet that the missing drone did not belong to them. and that the Palo Alto Police does not use drones.
