Micro Drone Provision is Back as Part of AIRR Act

A new amendment to the House proposal for FAA Reauthorization, the 21st Century AIRR Act, calls for a micro drone classification for drone regulations. The amendment, offered by Rep. President Trump said this morning that he would push for privatization of Air Traffic Control, taking the nearly 30,000 employees from under the authorization of the FAA in what is referred to as his "Air Traffic Control Reform Initiative." FAA Reauthorization Passes Senate: What’s Inside for Drone Industry?

A group of drone industry stakeholders sent a letter to the Senate yesterday, protesting Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) proposed drone amendment to the 2016 FAA Reauthorization Act.
