2022 will find Swoop Aero in Namibia, expanding medical drone delivery and logistics services to increase access to healthcare. Swoop Aero‘s award-winning drone logistics platform is serving many communities in Africa, as the continent continues to lead the way in demonstrating medical drone delivery applications at scale.

Swoop Aero’s operating model provides more than just access to healthcare: it offers economic opportunity as well. Operating at Scale on the African Continent
Swoop Aero has conducted more than 5,000 flights in Malawi, and has trained more than 70 health care workers in addition to their 12 full-time local staff. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Swoop Aero covers 22,000 square kilomers and services 100 villages.
“Our core goal as a company is to provide a drone logistics service to 100 million people in 2025, and grow that impact to make it accessible by one billion people by 2030” said Mr Peck. “Operations in Namibia will be the eighth country using the Swoop Aero logistics platform. We’re dedicated to creating solutions to global challenges, and are proud to continue delivering to new communities in Namibia”.
Swoop Aero launches in Namibia with local partners: Namibian health services company Macquarie Medical Care, the name behind Namibia’s first telehealth service, Dr MacQ. “Macquarie Medical Care provides the local leadership and medical expertise required to enable both improved community health outcomes and long term capacity building,” says the release.
“Macquarie’s goal is to bring health within reach, through telemedicine and digital health solutions across Namibia” said Dr Armid Azadeh, founder and CEO of Macquarie Medical Care. “Reaching isolated communities with Swoop Aero’s drones is an ideal synergy.”
