Survey open to all actors in the global drone market ecosystem — manufacturers, operators, investors, associations, regulators, and service providers
Drone Industry Insights (DII), the leading research and intelligence provider for the global drone market, today officially opens the 9th edition of the Global Drone Survey. It is the world’s largest annual data-collection initiative for the unmanned aerial systems industry and is available in 8 languages.

Building on the momentum of last week’s Drone Market Map 2026 release — which charted 1,413 companies across 70 countries and reached tens of thousands of drone professionals worldwide — the survey invites every actor in the drone market environment to share their perspective on the state of the industry.
The survey is open until July 31, 2026. Results will be published in the free State of Drones white paper in Q3 2026.
About the Survey
The Global Drone Survey is the most comprehensive annual data collection effort in the drone industry. It captures the real state of the market — from business sentiment and revenue trends to technology adoption, regulatory challenges, and investment outlook — directly from the companies and individuals operating within it.
The survey takes 8 to 15 minutes to complete and is open to all actors in the drone market environment:
- Hardware companies (drone, components, and counter-drone system manufacturers)
- Software developers and platform providers
- Drone service providers and operators
- Training, education, system integration, engineering, maintenance, and consulting
- Media, industry associations and user groups
- Regulatory bodies and government agencies
- Researchers and Universities

In recognition of their contribution to the industry’s shared knowledge base, all participants who complete the full survey will receive:
- Early copy of the State of Drones 2026 report — four weeks before the public release in Q3 2026.
- Early access to ASTRA — DII’s new drone industry intelligence platform, launching publicly later this month.
- Participants gain access before the general public. The chance to win 5 x $100 Amazon/Rakuten/Alibaba/Coupang vouchers
“The Global Drone Survey is one of the most valuable things we provide for the industry — not because of what we publish, but because of what it tells you. Eight years in, the data has become a reference point that decision-makers, investors, and policymakers around the world rely on. This year, we’re pairing the survey with ASTRA — because the industry doesn’t just need a snapshot once a year. It needs living intelligence, every day.” – Kay Wackwitz, CEO, Drone Industry Insights
