EagleNXT Expands Counter-Drone Capabilities with Strategic Investment and U.S. Joint Venture

April 14, 2026 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

Partnership with ThirdEye Systems aims to localize production and accelerate advanced counter-UAS deployment

EagleNXT has announced a $10 million strategic investment in Israel-based ThirdEye Systems Ltd. and the formation of a new U.S. joint venture, ThirdEye USA. The move reflects continued growth in counter-drone technology and increased demand for domestically produced solutions in defense and public safety markets.

Third Eye Systems Counter UAS

The joint venture will operate from EagleNXT’s headquarters in Allen, Texas. EagleNXT will hold a 51% ownership stake, while ThirdEye Systems will own 49%. The new entity will focus on delivering counter-drone systems to customers in the United States and Canada.

Expanding Counter-Drone Capabilities

ThirdEye Systems develops electro-optical recognition and AI-powered counter-drone technologies. Its systems support detection and identification across fixed sites, vehicles, and drone-mounted platforms.

“ThirdEye Systems has developed world-class, high performance optical recognition and counter-drone capabilities that complement our expanding portfolio of UAS solutions,” said Bill Irby, EagleNXT’s CEO. “With the establishment of the ThirdEye USA joint venture in our Allen, Texas facility, we are strengthening our position in the defense and security markets while delivering American-produced, localized solutions that align with U.S. acquisition and export requirements.”

The partnership combines EagleNXT’s experience in unmanned aerial systems, sensors, and deployment with ThirdEye’s AI-driven optical systems. Together, the companies aim to deliver integrated solutions for counter-UAS operations, situational awareness, and aerial intelligence.

The systems are designed to provide passive detection and real-time insights. These features are critical for defense and public safety missions where stealth and speed matter.

Localization and Market Access

The creation of ThirdEye USA supports a broader industry trend toward domestic manufacturing. U.S. agencies continue to prioritize supply chain security and compliance with federal procurement rules.

By producing systems in Texas, the joint venture aims to meet these requirements while improving delivery timelines. EagleNXT will use its existing infrastructure for manufacturing, integration, and testing to support the effort.

The company expects ThirdEye USA to begin operations by May 2026.

This approach may also help companies compete in programs such as Blue UAS and other government-backed procurement pathways. These programs emphasize trusted supply chains and verified performance.

Broader Strategy in Defense and Public Safety

The investment is part of EagleNXT’s ongoing shift toward higher-growth sectors. The company continues to expand beyond its legacy operations into defense and public safety applications.

“Our joint venture with ThirdEye Systems, along with our recent strategic investment in Aerodrome Group Ltd. further strengthens our offering by adding advanced loitering munition and precision-strike Aerodrome capabilities, enabling autonomous target discrimination and next-generation offensive operations. Customers can now turn to a single, trusted partner for the complete air-domain spectrum: aerial intelligence gathering, robust counter-drone defenses, and high-precision offensive UAS capabilities, all designed to protect what matters most,” Irby said.

This reflects a broader market direction. Customers increasingly seek integrated solutions that cover detection, defense, and operational capabilities within a single ecosystem.

Industry Context

Counter-drone technology has become a priority for governments and infrastructure operators. The rise in drone usage has increased the need for reliable detection and mitigation systems.

At the same time, regulatory pressure continues to shape the market. U.S. policy frameworks emphasize secure, domestically produced systems. This has created opportunities for partnerships that combine international innovation with U.S.-based production.

EagleNXT’s joint venture with ThirdEye Systems fits within this trend. It pairs advanced AI-driven detection technology with local manufacturing and compliance.

As demand grows, similar partnerships may become more common. Companies that can align performance with regulatory requirements are likely to gain an advantage in this evolving market.
