EagleNXT Expands Defense Technology Portfolio with Investment in Autonomous Loitering Munition Developer

March 6, 2026 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

Strategic investment expands autonomous defense capabilities and opens path for potential U.S. collaboration

EagleNXT has announced a strategic investment in Aerodrome Group Ltd., an Israel-based developer of precision loitering munitions. The investment expands EagleNXT’s capabilities in autonomy and precision strike technology.

EagleNXT, formerly known as AgEagle Aerial Systems Inc., provides drones, sensors, and software for commercial and government customers worldwide. The company said the new partnership supports its strategy to accelerate advanced uncrewed systems and defense technologies.

Aerodrome develops systems designed for modern aerial warfare. The company focuses on technologies that combine autonomy, target identification, and precision strike capabilities.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the investment.

Expanding Autonomous Capabilities

EagleNXT said the partnership will strengthen its position in autonomous defense systems. The agreement gives EagleNXT access to Aerodrome’s expertise in precision loitering munitions and target discrimination technologies.

Loitering munitions combine features of drones and guided weapons. Operators can launch them to search for targets before engaging with precision.

The technology has become increasingly important in modern conflicts. Advances in sensors, autonomy, and data processing continue to expand their capabilities.

Aerodrome focuses on systems that improve target identification and decision-making during operations. These technologies help support precision engagement while reducing operational risk.

“Aerodrome Group’s advanced work in autonomous loitering munitions is helping shape the reality of modern UAS tactics and precision operations,” said Bill Irby, CEO of EagleNXT. “This strategic investment shows our commitment to expanding access to transformative technologies that enhance security and operational effectiveness for our defense forces.”

Potential for U.S. Joint Venture

The agreement also includes a reserved right for EagleNXT to establish a U.S.-based joint venture with Aerodrome. Any future joint venture would require regulatory approvals and mutual agreement between the companies.

A U.S. collaboration could allow the companies to develop or produce systems for defense customers operating under American procurement requirements.

The partnership also reflects broader cooperation between U.S. and Israeli defense technology companies. Both countries continue to invest in autonomous systems and next-generation aerial capabilities.

Supporting Growth in Strategic Markets

EagleNXT said the investment aligns with its broader mission to develop uncrewed technologies that protect lives, land, and infrastructure.

The company serves customers across defense, public safety, agriculture, infrastructure inspection, and environmental monitoring. Its drone platforms have completed more than one million flights worldwide.

EagleNXT systems have also achieved several regulatory milestones. These include approvals for operations over people and beyond visual line of sight. The company’s systems also appear on the U.S. Department of Defense’s Blue UAS list.

EagleNXT said the investment in Aerodrome supports its long-term growth strategy in strategic markets. The company plans to continue investing in partners that expand its uncrewed technology portfolio and support new operational capabilities.
