Elistair has introduced a Dual Payload configuration for its Khronos tethered drone system, combining a Silvus StreamCaster 4200P tactical radio with a Nextvision DragonEye2 electro-optical camera. The setup transforms Khronos into a multi-mission aerial mast: the platform can act as both a communications relay and a persistent surveillance node by providing secure mesh networking and stabilized day/night aerial imaging on a single platform.
Khronos is designed for rapid deployment, reaching operational altitude in under two minutes. The microcable tether provides continuous power and data transmission, enabling up to 24 hours of uninterrupted flight at altitudes up to 60 meters. This endurance supports a range of tactical missions, offering wide-area coverage for border security, perimeter monitoring, and event protection—even in GPS/GNSS-denied and RF-challenged environments.
The communications relay function uses the Silvus StreamCaster to extend tactical mesh networks. Operators benefit from improved line-of-sight and expanded secure radio coverage, while the DragonEye2 camera delivers day/night object tracking, long-range zoom, and stabilized imagery for real-time, actionable intelligence. The dual role reflects growing demand for multi-function aerial assets instead of single-purpose tethered cameras or radios.
