Company Refocuses on Core Thermal Imaging and Software Technologies

Teledyne FLIR to Discontinue SIRAS Drone Sales

Teledyne FLIR OEM has announced that it will stop selling its SIRAS professional drone by August 31, 2025. The company will continue to provide warranty service, parts, and technical support for existing customers through September 30, 2027.

SIRAS was first launched in September 2022. Since then, it has been used in critical missions for public safety and industrial inspection.

A Strategic Shift Toward Core Strengths

Although the company has received positive feedback about the drone, Teledyne FLIR OEM has decided to shift focus. It will now prioritize its strengths in thermal camera modules and embedded software.

This move will allow the company to accelerate work in fast-growing areas like defense, automotive systems, and AI-supported decision-making.

“Our industry-leading thermal camera modules will continue to be integrated into platforms from Teledyne FLIR Defense, Skydio, Red Cat, AerialOGI, and others,” the announcement said.

Teledyne FLIR Defense will keep producing advanced drone airframes, including the SkyRanger and Black Hornet.

Support Through the Transition

To help its customers and distributors during this change, the company will offer a range of support services. These include:

• Warranty support through September 2027

• Spare parts and repair services (subject to availability)

• Help with planning for replacement solutions
