Ascent AeroSystems and Gremsy Form Strategic Collaboration at XPONENTIAL 2025

Partnership Will Explore Sensor Integration and Payload Development for Rugged UAS Platforms

At the 2025 AUVSI XPONENTIAL conference in Houston, Massachusetts-based Ascent AeroSystems and Vietnam-based Gremsy JSC announced a new strategic collaboration aimed at advancing payload integration for uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during a joint press conference held at Gremsy’s booth on May 21.

The partnership will focus on developing integrated solutions that combine Ascent’s compact, high-performance UAS platforms with Gremsy’s advanced gimbal and payload technology. Specifically, the companies will explore integration opportunities between Ascent’s Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA)-ready SPIRIT and NX30 drones and Gremsy’s lineup of gimbals, including the Blue UAS-approved ViO F1.

A Shared Vision for Rugged, Flexible UAS

Ascent AeroSystems is known for its cylindrical, coaxial UAVs that are designed for rugged environments and mission-critical operations. The company serves defense, public safety, and industrial markets and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Robinson Helicopter Company in 2024.

Peter Fuchs, Co-founder and President of Ascent AeroSystems, emphasized the alignment between the two companies.

Ascent AeroSystems was founded in 2014 and is based in Wilmington, Massachusetts. The company builds all-weather UAVs for critical operations, using a unique cylindrical design to enhance durability, portability, and deployment speed.

Gremsy JSC, headquartered in Vietnam, specializes in developing advanced gimbal stabilization systems and payloads for aerial platforms. Their products are widely used in industrial inspection, mapping, and public safety applications.
