New Approval Enhances UAS Capabilities Without the Need for Visual Observers
Censys Technologies has received a significant waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that allows their Sentaero 5 drone to operate over people and moving vehicles without the need for visual observers. This approval marks a considerable advancement in the field of drone operations, particularly for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) applications.
The waiver enables operators of the Sentaero 5, an eVTOL fixed-wing drone, to conduct flights in areas where people and vehicles are present. Such permissions are typically not granted without specific waivers, making this approval a notable achievement for Censys Technologies and its customers. According to the company, this development will allow for more efficient and comprehensive data collection in environments where the risks to ground personnel are considered manageable.
