InsurTech platform SkyWatch.AI has announced a partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (E-R) to develop drone education programs and provide reduced rates to Embry-Riddle students on their insurance offerings.
As the premier aeronautical university in the U.S., Embry-Riddle has taken a leading role in drone education. E-R provides drone education for pilots, engineers, and more through a variety of university programs. Skywatch.AI will work with E-R to jointly develop education and marketing resources for drone pilots enrolled in E-R courses. Students and graduates will also receive lower rates on Skywatch insurance plans.
“Our partnership with Embry-Riddle helps us advocate for educational and safety measures within the drone industry,” said SkyWatch.AI CEO and Co-Founder, Tomer Kashi. “We’re proud to reward pilots for taking extra safety measures and enrolling in advanced drone training courses. We’re even more excited to use our safety and risk analysis to advance Embry-Riddle’s curriculum with industry-specific knowledge. SkyWatch.AI looks forward to working alongside the new graduates and drone pilots that enter the commercial drone industry each year.”
“We’re excited to introduce Skywatch.AI in our courses,” said David Thirtyacre, chair of Embry-Riddle Worldwide’s College of Aeronautics Department of Flight. “Insurance for drone operations is an interesting topic; it didn’t exist on a large scale until recently, and there is still a lot of misunderstanding. Working with a knowledgeable provider like Skywatch.AI that understands the risks of unmanned systems while balancing cost and liability is great to introduce to our students. Most insurance providers treat sUAS pilots the same regardless of experience. Skywatch.AI offers discounted premiums for safer pilots, like our students, flexibility with hourly, monthly, and yearly policies, and an extremely simple mobile interface. Skywatch.AI is a great addition to our drone programs.”
