There are a lot of very significant drone business surveys, and a lot of very official forecasts for the drone industry. The DRONELIFE Minute Survey makes no claim to be either – it’s a way for DRONELIFE to share some of the prevailing buzz that comes our way from readers on a variety of subjects, and for us to track changes over time.
Last week, we asked a few Twitter followers what they felt about the coronavirus effect on drone business. We asked one question, “How has the Coronavirus affected your commercial drone business?” and gave the following four responses as choices:
1.) Boosted Business
2.) Hurt Business
3.) No Change
4.) Killed Us
The Effect of Coronavirus on Drone Business
While there has been a lot of news about new applications during coronavirus, and we know that some critical infrastructure applications haven’t changed, the pandemic hasn’t helped the vast majority of drone businesses. For most, business has stayed unchanged for the lucky ones or seen a downturn – some say their businesses have been hit badly.
- 7.1% said that it has boosted business, or that business was better during the coronavirus;
- 28.6% said that it hurt business;
- 50% said that there was no change;
- 14.3% said that it has dramatically hurt business.
