DJI has announced the details of a Back-To-School promotion, appealing to students with deals on selected drones and some of the company’s handheld products. The promotion started yesterday. Students can buy once registering through the Education section of the DJI store.
The exclusive back-to-school deals include a 12% discount on the DJI Spark and a 10% education discount across a wide range of aerial and handheld products.
The 12% discount on the Spark will only be available to students who apply between August 22nd and 24th. As a small and smart consumer drone, the ease of use and portability makes the Spark ideal for use on the go.
Students get discount across the DJI range
The back-to-school promotion also includes discounts and deals on products from across the DJI range. These include the Mavic Pro, DJI Goggles and the Osmo Mobile – a handheld gimbal that gives stability to smartphones when shooting videos.
DJI Student Deals – The Highlights
Spark Fly More Combo – Usually $699
For students who register before the 25th, the Spark Fly More Combo is available for the promotional price of $615. After that window ends, the usual student price will be $629.
Osmo Mobile (Black or Silver) – Usually $299
Students can get their hands on one of DJI’s handheld gimbals for $269.
Mavic Pro Fly More Combo – Usually $1,299
Students can bag a Mavic Pro Fly More Combo with a 10% discount ($1,169).
DJI Goggles – Usually $449
The student promotion price for the DJI Goggles is $404. These are ideal for FPV flyers, feature head tracking technology and are compatible with the DJI Spark, Mavic Pro and Phantom 4 series.
DJI aims to broaden its appeal with promotions for students
Although DJI has offered educational discounts for some time, these students promotions can be seen as a signal of intent to newcomers to drone technology. Now that drones such as the Mavic Pro and Spark are on the market, accessibility is less of a problem than it once was. Although powerful and packed with features, these models are nowhere near as intimidating to beginners as the Phantom or Inspire series.
The company will be hoping that student discounts can help build relationships with the young pilots of the future.
