ZEROTECH, announced a price break for its DOBBY drone. It is now available for $349, a $50 reduction from the previous price of $399, and will include an additional battery. It is available for $349 at Amazon, B&H Photo, BestBuy, Walmart and in the United States. It’s also available at Staples and NCIX in Canada.
Originally launched in September 2016, DOBBY is a pocket-sized, selfie drone featuring motion-guided control connected to your smart phone. DOBBY provides a simple, intuitive user interface, enabling consumers to utilize features such as palm take-off and landing, voice-enabled control and dual satellite positioning with ease. DOBBY features a 13 megapixel camera with a field of view of 75 degrees and 1080p FHD video capabilities, producing crystal-clear pictures and videos, even from a distance. The company also announced its new formation flying technology.
Formation flying is a new trend in the drone industry according to ZEROTECH. While popular, the high cost of such technology has been a key barrier to entry with few companies actually harnessing the formation technology.
The company states that: “With consumers and small businesses in mind, ZEROTECH has introduced ZEROSPACE, the first drone formation flying product based on an advanced computer vision positioning system for use at special events, festivals and more.
ZEROTECH offers three different ZEROSPACE packages based on the number of components and desired level of customization. The introductory version includes four units of DOBBY with five different flight patterns. The second version comes with eight units of DOBBY and five flight patterns. And the third package is customizable, enabling users to request created specific flight pattern and products (besides DOBBY) of their choosing. All purchases come with accessories, batteries and adapters. As additional flight patterns become available, users can download these formations through the mobile application.
In contrast to other drone companies, ZEROTECH technology enables both indoor and outdoor flight capabilities. While outdoor flight relies primarily on GPS coordinates, indoor flight is more complex as it requires more sophisticated intelligence such as the use of computer vision positioning technology.
Similar to the DOBBY drone, ZEROSPACE is affordable and provides users with an intuitive mobile app for flight control. The product is pre-programmed, enabling users to get the technology ready in under 10 minutes, and in just one click, activate a synchronized performance with a dreamlike galaxy stage effect. Here is a look at a formation flying performance using ZEROSPACE, courtesy of ZEROTECH.
- Requires only a small area to perform (4 drones require 2.5m x 2.5 m of space; 8 drones require 5m x 5m of space)
- Environmentally friendly, especially compared to fireworks, balloons and other similar displays
- Inspiration for creating eye-catching moments during indoor and outdoor events
- Innovative lightning effects for stage performances
- Simple preparation and easy storage
