Good news for drone entrepreneurs! The Genius NY deadline for application has been extended to April 30, 2021, giving drone companies another chance to try for the $1 million top prize.
Five finalists will share the $3 million dollar prize money, with one company scoring the top prize. Almost more importantly than the funding, however, are the opportunities that Genius NY – one of the biggest business accelerator programs in the world – provides new companies for technology space, mentoring, and networking.
The GENIUS NY program, based in Syracuse NY, is investing in bringing technology companies to the central NY area. The program “has helped more than a dozen companies scale their operations and make the necessary connections to secure partners, customers and follow-on funding,” says a company press release. “Those companies selected as finalists spend a year at a Syracuse-based startup incubator where they have office space and amenities plus workshops, training, mentoring and opportunities for networking. Since 2017, GENIUS NY has invested over $12 million in 22 early stage companies from around the world.”
For more details on the program, see our initial announcement of the 2021 cohort here. Companies just starting out, trying to expand, or entering the U.S. market can all benefit from the growth opportunities offered by the accelerator and the growing ecoystem in central NY. With the Genius NY deadline extended for another month, don’t miss this additional chance to apply.
GENIUS NY is looking for companies who are focused on unmanned systems, IoT, big data and robotics. To apply and see program requirements visit, www.geniusny.com/apply.
