Matternet Drone Delivery Begins Trading on OTCQB

The Mountain View company’s common stock qualified for the OTCQB Venture Market, giving public investors direct exposure to a drone delivery operator that holds standard FAA type certification.

Matternet common stock began trading on the OTCQB Venture Market on September 21, 2026 under the ticker symbol MTTN. The Mountain View, California company describes itself as the only FAA type-certified drone delivery platform, and the listing makes it the first publicly traded pure-play drone delivery company. According to Matternet, the quotation should broaden visibility and access to capital markets as the company prepares to launch its next-generation platform and expand commercial operations across food, retail, healthcare and industrial logistics.

“As we enter the era of physical AI, we believe 2026 is an inflection point for drone delivery in the United States,” said Andreas Raptopoulos, founder and chief executive of Matternet. “In the next few years, we believe drone delivery will become part of the infrastructure we all rely on to receive everyday goods. Now that our shares are trading, we can bring public investors into that opportunity as we build what we believe will become an essential layer of transportation infrastructure.”

Corporate milestones behind the Matternet OTCQB trading debut

The listing follows a recently announced oversubscribed private placement and a run of corporate developments. Matternet launched drone delivery operations for the United Kingdom’s National Health Service, and it entered a strategic partnership with SoftBank Robotics America to scale delivery networks. The company also appointed Sanjay Shah and Sanjay Kotte to its board of directors, adding leadership experience from Starbucks, Tesla, Amazon and DoorDash. Meanwhile, Matternet expanded its network of FAA Part 135 operating partners to support continued scale-up across the United States. Last week the company also announced a partnership with AVI-SPL to fly replacement parts to field technicians in congested metro markets.

Raptopoulos framed the economics in terms of vehicle size. “Drone delivery creates a fundamentally better way to move small, time-sensitive goods. Instead of sending a two-ton vehicle through traffic to deliver a meal or a small retail item, a small electric autonomous aircraft can move it directly through the air in minutes. Over the next few years, we believe drone delivery will touch virtually every industry that depends on — or can benefit from — instant logistics, from food and retail to healthcare and high-value B2B applications.”

Certification record and operating history

Matternet builds the Matternet M2 drone, the Matternet Station and the Matternet Software Platform, operating that technology directly for customers or alongside logistics partners including UPS. The company was the first authorized for commercial BVLOS drone delivery over cities in Switzerland, and the first to launch routine revenue-generating drone delivery operations in the United States. Notably, it also holds both standard type certification and production certification from the FAA. Part 135 operations run through UPS Flight Forward, Ameriflight and Beeline UAS.

Commercial activity dates back more than a decade. Matternet started with humanitarian delivery missions in 2014, then launched B2B healthcare operations in Europe in 2017 and in the United States in 2019. Expansion into B2C delivery followed in Silicon Valley in 2024. To date, the company’s technology has enabled more than 60,000 commercial flights across dense urban and suburban environments in the United States and Europe.
