DJI Flip Combines Safety, Portability, and Professional-Grade Features in a Lightweight Design
DJI, a global leader in drone technology, has introduced the DJI Flip, an all-in-one vlog camera drone designed for safety, portability, and high-quality photography. This release comes as the U.S. government continues to limit the use of professional DJI drones, yet the company remains focused on launching innovative products for content creation and imagery.
A Safer Flight Experience with Foldable Propeller Guards
Safety is a key focus of the DJI Flip. The drone features foldable, full-coverage propeller guards, made from lightweight carbon fiber string. These guards weigh just 1/60 of traditional polycarbonate materials while maintaining durability and stiffness. The guards protect both users and the drone, ensuring safe and reliable flights.
“Building on the success of our consumer camera drones, we are introducing DJI Flip to combine the simplicity of the DJI Neo with the stunning photo capabilities of the DJI Mini to make both aerial photography and close-up portraits accessible for everyone,” said Ferdinand Wolf, Product Experience Director at DJI.
The DJI Flip’s 3D Infrared Sensing System further enhances safety by supporting automatic braking, even during night flights.
Professional-Grade Camera Features
At the heart of DJI Flip is a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, enabling users to capture high-dynamic 48MP photos with detailed highlights and shadows. The camera features Dual Native ISO Fusion, an f/1.7 aperture, and 2.4μm 4-in-1 pixels for vibrant and clear images.
For video enthusiasts, DJI Flip records HDR video at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, with options for 4K/100fps slow-motion recording and 10-bit D-Log M color mode. The 4:3 aspect ratio sensor ensures vertical cropping for smartphone and social media optimization, preserving resolution without additional edits.
Intelligent Shooting Modes for Effortless Creativity
DJI Flip offers six intelligent shooting modes:
- Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, Helix, and Boomerang, allowing users to create dynamic shots effortlessly.
- MasterShots automates camera movements, combining clips with music, effects, and transitions for cinematic footage.
- Hyperlapse provides options for Free, Circle, Course Lock, and Waypoint timelapses.
- FocusTrack includes ActiveTrack 4.0, Spotlight 2.0, and Point of Interest 3.0 for precise subject tracking.
