New Innovation Marks DTDC’s 35th Anniversary with a Focus on Efficiency and Sustainability
DTDC Express Ltd., a leading express logistics service provider in India, has announced the launch of its drone delivery services in partnership with Skye Air Mobility. This initiative, marking the company’s 35th foundation year, aims to revolutionize last-mile delivery through innovative technology and sustainable practices.
DTDC’s extensive network, comprising over 16,000 channel partners and covering nearly 96% of the Indian population, processes approximately 155 million parcels annually. The integration of drone technology promises to enhance delivery speed and efficiency while minimizing carbon emissions and traffic congestion.
Speaking on the launch, Abhishek Chakraborty, Chief Executive Officer of DTDC Express Ltd., highlighted the significance of this development. “As we commence the 35th year of DTDC’s journey, our strategic partnership with Skye Air marks a significant milestone in setting new benchmarks for last-mile delivery. The partnership aims to address the evolving logistics landscape, driven by digitalization and changing consumer behaviors, presenting us with an opportunity to redefine last-mile logistics in this country,” he said. Chakraborty emphasized DTDC’s commitment to aligning technological advancements with societal and environmental needs to drive growth in various logistics sectors.

Each drone delivery can save over 520 grams of CO2 emissions compared to traditional methods,” Kumar stated. He also noted the broader potential for India to lead the global drone delivery and aerial taxi industry by 2030, highlighting efforts to establish the country as a global drone hub.
