AeroDefense Launches No-Cost Drone Detection Access Program for Law Enforcement

February 19, 2026 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

AirWarden Essentials customers can now share drone detection data with SLTT, DHS, and FBI partners at no added cost

AeroDefense has announced a new initiative aimed at improving coordination between site security teams and law enforcement. The company will allow AirWarden® Essentials customers to share system access with public safety partners at no additional cost.

The program applies to State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial law enforcement agencies. It also includes federal partners such as the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The announcement comes as reports of unauthorized and unsafe drone activity continue to rise. Incidents have occurred near critical infrastructure, campuses, public venues, and corporate facilities. In many cases, quick coordination between security teams and responding officers is essential.

Shared Visibility for Faster Response

AeroDefense says the goal is to remove barriers that can slow down investigations or response efforts.

“Law enforcement plays a critical role in protecting communities, and we stand alongside them,” said Linda Ziemba, Founding CEO of AeroDefense. “This program is about removing barriers so agencies—from local police to federal partners like the DHS and FBI—have the visibility and support they need to respond confidently and work in step with the organizations they serve.”

Under the program, AirWarden Essentials customers can securely share airspace awareness data with authorized agencies. Officers can access both real-time and historical information.

Authorized users can:

• View real-time drone and pilot locations
• Access reporting and flight-path history to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
• Support incident response, investigations, and evidence collection
• Coordinate directly with on-site security teams using the same airspace data

By creating a shared operating picture, the system supports coordinated response. It also helps agencies review past incidents and analyze patterns over time.

AirWarden Essentials Platform

AirWarden Essentials is AeroDefense’s wide-area drone detection solution. The company launched the system in January 2025. It is designed to provide cost-effective and scalable airspace awareness.

The platform is deployed at critical infrastructure sites, correctional facilities, stadiums, event venues, and campuses. It also supports organizations that manage large, distributed portfolios.

Users can monitor multiple locations from a single interface. This centralized view allows teams to see drone activity across sites in real time. It also enables shared reporting and secure collaboration with authorized stakeholders, including law enforcement.

AeroDefense states that its systems use Radio Frequency technology, including Remote ID and spectrum sensing. The system detects and locates drones and their pilots. It delivers real-time alerts along with historical flight data.

According to the company, this intelligence allows organizations to monitor their airspace and make informed decisions. The goal is to prevent potential incidents before they escalate.

Building on Federal Collaboration

The new program builds on AeroDefense’s work with the U.S. Air Force. The company previously received a Small Business Innovation Research contract to develop a Collaborative Drone Detection Network.

That effort focused on enabling shared airspace awareness across organizations and jurisdictions. The new access program reflects a similar approach at the commercial and public safety level.

AirWarden Essentials customers can enable law enforcement access immediately.

State, local, tribal, territorial, and federal agencies interested in participating can contact AeroDefense directly to connect with existing AirWarden sites.

AeroDefense is based in Oceanport, New Jersey. The company states that all engineering, manufacturing, and support operations take place in the United States. It also notes that it strictly adheres to all laws and regulations governing drone detection technology.
