Parrot Wins Multi-Year Contract to Supply Tactical Micro UAS to European Defence Force

November 24, 2025 by Miriam McNabb Leave a Comment

ANAFI UKR will support frontline reconnaissance and modernization efforts across Europe

Parrot has secured a major multi-year contract with a European Defence Force to supply its next-generation micro-UAV system, ANAFI UKR. The award follows a competitive three-year procurement program aimed at upgrading tactical reconnaissance and situational-awareness tools for frontline units.

The selection marks a major step in Parrot’s expansion across European defense and public safety markets. It arrives as demand for secure, European-designed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms continues to rise. Nations across Europe are accelerating investment in modern tactical drones to support national defense and civil protection missions.

A Significant Contract Award

Under the agreement, Parrot and its distribution partner will deliver a large fleet of ANAFI UKR systems along with engineering support, training, documentation, spare parts, and full maintenance structures. Deliveries are expected to begin before the end of the year. The contract also includes multi-year options that allow the customer to expand the fleet as mission requirements change.

The award follows a strict, multi-phase evaluation process under a structured European defense procurement framework. Review teams assessed short-listed bidders on system performance, lifecycle planning, cost, technical compliance, and supplier reliability. Parrot passed formal qualification reviews, met technical and program structure requirements, and demonstrated its system in a demanding flight evaluation that simulated real tactical conditions.

“This award demonstrates the growing trust European defence organizations place in Parrot’s ISR micro-UAVs,” said Chris Roberts, Senior Vice President of Parrot. “Across Europe, we are seeing sustained demand for secure, European-designed systems as nations accelerate their defence modernization plans. The selection of ANAFI UKR confirms our ability to deliver sovereign, cyber-secure and highly reliable tactical UAS — and to compete successfully in the most demanding procurement environments.”

Designed for Tactical Decision-Making

ANAFI UKR is built for complex and fast-changing operational environments. The platform includes embedded AI, optical navigation, secure communications systems, and a hardened cybersecurity design. It can fly autonomously in contested electromagnetic conditions, support real-time classification and tracking, and maintain long endurance to support extended observation missions. The drone is designed to manage strong winds and meet environmental challenges while remaining compact and portable for soldiers in the field.

Its communication and mission software architecture support secure and efficient operations, giving teams access to data-rich intelligence when they need it most. Automated mission workflows also help reduce operator workload, which can improve tempo during high-pressure situations.

“ANAFI UKR gives tactical teams a decisive information advantage at the edge,” added Chris Roberts. “We designed the platform for harsh contested operational conditions where reliability, simplicity, and speed of deployment directly impact mission success. Whether deployed to defend national sovereignty or in the context of civil protection ANAFI UKR provides real-time visual intelligence, tactical flexibility and sovereign data control at the speed of field operations.”

Full Lifecycle Support

Beyond the aircraft itself, Parrot’s distribution partner will provide long-term support to the European Defence Force customer. The support plan includes engineering and integration assistance, fleet maintenance and sustainment programs, and training for both operators and maintainers. It also includes a structured supply pipeline for spare parts and ongoing software, firmware, and cybersecurity updates to keep the fleet ready for evolving mission needs.
