Chula Vista Police Department on the Public Safety Drone Review, June 6
This month, hosts Miriam McNabb of DRONELIFE and Timothy Martin of the Regional Training Institute speak with Captain Miriam Foxx of Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD). CVPD were pioneers of Drone as First Responder (DFR) technology. In 2018, CVPD began launching drones from the roof of the police department building to respond to 911 calls and other emergencies. Since then, the CVPD DFR program has served as an example for operations around the world, paving new ground in operational standards, use cases, community engagement, and more. Captain Foxx has been a member of the Chula Vista Police Department for more than 24 years. During that time, she has served as the Crisis Negotiations Team Commander, the UAS Program Manager, and the Support Operations Captain. Ms. Foxx is currently Captain, Investigations Unit.
