This video looks like scouting footage from the latest Jurassic Park movie. Especially the shots of the trail through the valley… I got a little itchy watching that part because the music wasn’t John Williams’ iconic score.
But in the end, this is a video of Linville Gorge in Marion, North Carolina. And if it doesn’t make you want to go for a hike right now… watch it again.
Shot with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional edition by Beggs Aerial Cinematography.
From the video’s description:
Take a flight through the Gorge and experience some of the most rugged wilderness in the United States. Towering over the Gorge is Table Rock @ 4284 feet – known for its slab rock climbing and breath-taking overlooks. Fly over the precariously narrow ridge line toward the Cathedrals, a thin rock formation that comes to a head at the Sphinx, a spire-like rock formation extending from the cliffs into the Gorge. Get a bird’s-eye view down the Gorge and river at Shortoff Mountain and the route the Lake James.

Nice video, just a heads up – Probably shouldn’t fly drones in and out of wilderness areas…

Thanks for the wonder aerial footage. I am a native of the area and spent many days in the gorge when I was a young man. The gorge was untamed 60 years ago and trails were where you made them. It was truly a rugged pristine wilderness. Your video provided some sweet memories. Thanks so much.
