If you are like the DroneLife team, when you first start flying your drone, the aerial footage you captured is mostly imprecise. You get maybe three minutes of cool shots in 20 minutes of uneventful flying. But, as you get better at flying, your videos contain proportionally more sharable footage and less boring junk.
Maybe you are already a proficient operator and have hours of cool footage but, lack the skills (of the additional time) to edit it down to a compact, compelling, shareable video. This is where DreamitReel comes in.
DreamitReel is a New York based company that takes user shot footage and edits it into a professional cinematography experience complete with a royalty free soundtrack.
DreamitReel has created videos of everything from action footage shot with GoPros on skiing trips to wedding videos using footage shot by guests on their phones.
But the latest craze is drone footage.
“As drones have become more commonplace and more people are using them… we are seeing a huge increase in demand for drone videos,” DreamitReel CEO and founder Ravid Razak told DroneLife. “It’s similar to how folks are using GoPros, in that these devices capture great footage but many users still don’t know how to stitch together their footage into a unique, awesome, streamlined, and shareable story. While raw footage can also be beautiful and tell a story on its own, most people just want to see the highlight reel, or they’ll tune out. We give them that option.”
DreamitReel also does work for business that are starting to use drone footage like real estate brokers and event planning companies.
You can check out some of DreamitReel’s work in the videos below.

The DreamitReel packages start at $119 but, it you are interested in their service, you can use promo code Drone15 to get 20% off your first film. Click the image below to find out more!

People should be aware that as of 9-18-15 flying a drone for commercial purpose in the US is not legal without a 333 Exemption from the FAA. People need to consider the risk before going in that direction. Photographers and Videographers throughout the US have the Exemption. 50 Exemptions a week are being granted.
Some of this is very UN Cinematic in my view. Part of this is skill (flying) the other part is art ie setting up the shots and scenes for what you are trying to accomplish. It totally defeats the purpose to have some company in NY doing editing for something they are not on site for and have zero in site for except from what you tell them. Do yourself a favor get yourself a copy of Sony Vegas or Adobe and start learning how to use it. There are free classes on the internet to get you going. It will make you are better operator and streamline your craft when shooting a scene and sitting on the computer editing. One last hint less fancy gimmicks are better don’t fall for crazy transitions or speed up slow down etc etc…..
