Usually when we see drone footage of marine life, we are watching whales or dolphins gliding through the bright blue waters of the Caribbean. That’s why it was rather surprising to see this footage of two basking sharks just sort of hanging out and catching a quick bite off the coast of Gloucester, MA. (Pronounced ‘Glawstah’)
Martin Del Vecchio shot this footage last Friday. He told Boston.com his drone was about 2,000 feet from shore and 10 feet above the surface.
So, it’s probably for the best there weren’t any dolphins jumping through the surf.
