Craig Issod of Droneflyers.com has a new bestseller on Amazon. This time, Craig focuses on DJI’s family of Phantom Drones with “Buying and Flying the DJI Phantom Quadcopters: Covers all Current Models – Learn Before you Buy!” DJI Innovations is a global leader in developing and manufacturing of commercial and recreational drones and their Phantom drones are the industry’s most popular. The book is favorably reviewed on Amazon with one reader suggesting that “If you plan on buying a phantom, this is a must read.”.
DJI Phantom Quadcopters represent a major milestone in the adoption of consumer level drones. This is a drone that, just a few short years ago, would have been impossible to build at anywhere near the current pricing. Similar vehicles have been built in the last few years, but they are usually in kit form or are unfinished and require time, patience and mechanical & technical skills. This short book will help you decide if a DJI Phantom fits your needs and which model may best suit your intended use.
DJI currently offers four models of Phantom Quadcopters:

Here at Crestview Community Television we currently have three quads in our electronic news gathering arsenal. Certainly the Phantom Vision 2 + is our top model and surpasses our 350 QX and Parrot in both stability and ability to capture still or moving images. With our Phantom we incorporate an inexpensive 7″ tablet that has the DJI FVP software and gives us a very nice reference image to check our camera settings and angles. We also have a 7″ sun screen made by Marshall to knock down the glare on the screen. The Phantom captures stunning images and with the implication of “common sense” has as yet crashed, or flown away. You can check out the video we have shot while flying over everything from structure fires to corn mazes at our website, wcvctv.com, then click on the AirCam channel.

I need to buy a phone to match my new Phantom Vision plus. I am looking at SAMSUNG, but I notice all the videos show an iPhone on the remote.
Samsung? or iPhone?

It’s up to you! The DJI mobile apps work on either platform so it’s all about personal preference.
