AngelList is a popular website for technology start-ups looking to raise equity or debt financing from accredited investors. Of the 36,000 companies seeking financing on AngelList, 23 companies are self-categorized as “Drone-Tech.” Today, we profile one of these companies, Flirtey.
The Company’s tagline “Stuff By Air, Anytime, Anywhere” tell the story. Flirtey is in the drone delivery business. Co-Founder, Tom Bass speaks to the Company’s focus on delivery: “It is apparent to us that drone delivery is the application that will truly democratize drone technology and make it a ubiquitous part of our lives in the near future.”

When asked about a possible move to the Bay area, Bass said. “not at present due to California not being a state with an FAA approved UAS test site. “. The company is not actively fundraising, but plans to ramp its fundraising efforts up in the fall. Although not yet commercial, Flirtey has applied for certification from the Australian Civil Aviation and Safety Authority (CASA) and is awaiting approval to begin operations.
