Aerodyne and Astralution Partner to Grow Scandinavian Energy Sector
by DRONELIFE Staff Writer Ian M. Crosby
The world’s leading Drone Services Provider and DT3 (Drone Technology, Data Technology, and Digital Transformation) company, Aerodyne Group, has entered into a partnership with Norway-based drone technology provider Astralution. The two companies are collaborating to bring leading Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions to the Scandinavian region.
Aerodyne has administered over 560,000 infrastructure assets since 2014, with 458,058 flight operations and more than 380,000km of power infrastructure across 35 countries worldwide. The company has also provided cloud-based oil and gas infrastructure, powerline, offshore and onshore wind turbine, and solar panel inspection and management solutions, enabling clients to make strategic decisions based on real-time data.
“The total renewable capacity in Denmark and Norway in 2020 was 9,677 megawatts and 37.2 terawatts respectively, making it a huge market to tap into in terms of renewable energy asset management. This is especially since the EU is looking to install 30 gigawatts worth of wind farms every year from 2021 to 2030,” said Aerodyne Founder and Group CEO Kamarul A Muhamed. “There is also a huge opportunity to break data silos in the oil and gas sector, and with room to improve in how data can be standardized, integrated and analysed. Our AI-powered asset management solution – Vertikaliti – will not only provide up to 90% time savings with smart oil and gas monitoring systems, 35% operation cost savings for wind turbine analysis but also up to 97% increased productivity for solar panel inspections.”
Aerodyne and Astralution: State of the Art Solutions
Astralution’s aviation expertise and experience in crisis management in oil and gas will enable the partnership to provide clients with long-term value by offering tailored Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) solutions. This will allow the oil and gas industry to make a shift towards digitalization, with the addition of sensors and another layer of data analysis to the value chain saving up to USD 20 billion in expenses from equipment failure and repair. Norway’s upcoming data capture and digital transformation initiatives are also in line with the European Commission’s climate aim of 55% greenhouse gas emissions reduction by 2030.
“We are very pleased to represent Aerodyne in Scandinavia,” added Astralution Founder and CEO Nina Bokn Solheim. “For Astralution, this improves our competitive edge and opens up a number of new opportunities in a large growing market. With Aerodyne’s capability and capacity included, Astralution is able to present state of the art SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) and DaaS (Drone-as-a-Service) solutions to the Scandinavian marketplace.”
